A Milestone for Sustainability: Celebrating Going Green Dubai’s Recognition
We are thrilled to announce that Going Green Dubai, a youth-driven environmental organization founded by our ZeLoop ambassador Rishabh Mittal, has been named as a “Recycling Hero 2025” by the Global Recycling Foundation. This prestigious recognition, awarded on Global Recycling Day, highlights the organization’s dedication to promoting recycling, engaging the community in sustainable practices, and environmental awareness across United Arab Emirates.
A Well-Deserved Recognition
Going Green Dubai has been at the forefront of E-waste, plastic bottle and paper recycling, and the organization’s impressive recycling record of 4,208 kg of electronic waste, 12,805 plastic bottles, and 687 kg of paper to date showcases their commitment to sustainability.
Rishabh Mittal is a high school student and a ZeLoop Ambassador for over 2 years, and has been instrumental in engaging schools, companies, communities and malls in his recycling efforts. This recognition from the Global Recycling Foundation serves as a powerful testament to Going Green Dubai’s growing impact and dedication.
The Global Recycling Heroes Competition 2025
The Recycling Heroes Competition invited participants worldwide to showcase their impactful and innovative recycling, sustainability, and waste reduction initiatives through a 60 – 90 second video submission. Going Green Dubai’s story, illustrating its efforts in electronic waste management and youth engagement as well as plastic bottle and paper recycling, captured the attention of the judges with the impact created to engage communities across Dubai for a common goal- creating a clean and sustainable world.
A Shared Victory for Environmental Advocates
The award is a victory not just for Going Green Dubai but for each and every student, individual, school, company and mall who have contributed to the organization’s recycling initiatives. Their collective effort in reducing waste and increasing awareness has paved the way for a greener and more sustainable future.
The Role of ZeLoop in Driving Sustainable Change
Rishabh started his recycling journey with ZeLoop 3 years ago by collecting and recycling plastic bottles within his home and local community. With consistent weekly collections of 80 – 100 plastic bottles, Rishabh has inspired change within his community to take action and reduce waste for a cleaner environment. His awareness campaigns and dedicated efforts have inspired many to join his cause and take efforts to collect plastic bottles and give them for recycling using the ZeLoop App.
